Cats like to bite people is always disturbing, my cat like to nibble my feet when is a kitty, in the beginning her teeth are not sharp and no pain could be felt.
I can understand cat’s mood, she is just want to play with me, but when my cat grow bigger and bigger and her teeth are sharper and sharper, her bite strength becomes progressively powerful which really worried me for the future.
Though having tried many ways like punishment, shouting, teaching and education etc but all results to either cat frightened a lot or whacked but no big improvement showed.
Today taking the advantage of vaccinating for cat, I asked veterinarian a few questions. First if have the antirabic vaccination injections, the answer is satisfied. And then the question of the situation cats biting people, veterinarian said “Usually cats are just amuse with you, she knows how to handle the biting strength which commonly will not hurt you, but even a several weeks kitty can pierce your skin easily if she intend to. ”
On how to teach the cat not to bite, his words make me suddenly enlightened:
Shouting is useless, cats won’t understand your language, and beating her will only harm the feeling between you and cats. Further it may irritate her and “fight back” is cat’s instinct.
What you should do is like grimalkin, push her aside, walk away and don’t pay attention to her. This is cat’s body language, then she will understand this kind of bite is exceed your forbear and caused you unhappy. After several times, she will not bite you anymore, or just nibble you gently with no hurt.
Note: Bite by cats is dangerous, you need to do some disinfection and vaccination injections to prevent rabies and other diseases. Pregnant women are not suggested to raise cats.
